Your Dogs Checkup

How often do you take your dog for a checkup ?
Once a year is the MINIMUM you should take a dog to the vet for a checkup.

Your dog is a part of your family and should be treated just as if it were a close relative.
Many owners only take their dogs to the vet when the dog is sick or has an accident. That really is not good enough.

If you leave  taking your dog to the vet until it is ill or injured you will probably have to make an emergency appointment (outside working hours that is very expensive).

Your Dog may need:
Shots -. Their shots can prevent many diseases and can prolong their life span, so they can be around for a long time to come
His annual booster shots against common diseases like Hardpad , Kennel Cough and Distemper keep him protected against these diseases.r.
If a dog is left unvaccinated, then he can easily contract these diseases, which can be  fatal or will certainly becostly to you in the end in order to try to treat them.

Worms Treatment – Every Dog is born with worms and worm eggs in the stomach. These are easily  treated, but as there are so many different types of worm infestations your vet is best suited to advise on treatment.

Treatment for Ear Mites - Ear mites are pretty common with dog especially if they socialize with other dogs or spend a lot of time in rough shrubland. Your Vet should see your dog regularly to keep on top of an infestation. The vet can determine how severe the infestation is and prescribe appropriate medication to help treat it.  If  left untreated, bacteria can grow within the tissues and cause infections or even death.

Treatment for Fleas and Ticks – All dogs get fleas and ticks..
 I personally find Ticks repulsive.
You should always get them treated right away.
There are simple remedies for both Ticks and Fleas and I recommend Frontline. It is easy to use and very effective.

Dental Health Your vet will clean the dogs teeth and will explain the best way to keep them clean and avid a buildup of bacteria.

With Dogs, Prevention is always better than cure.
While you may be aware that your dog is ill, it is not possible for your dog to tell you what is wrong.. This is why a vet is so important and can keep your dog living to a happy and ripe old age with you.
