Irish Setters are FUN -
That is pretty much all an Irish Setter spends its time thinking about.
Lets go and have fun. Shall I chase that ball - it will be fun. You get the idea.
An Irish Setter has been called a bit dumb but I would disagree.
The fact is that Irish Setters have their own view of the World and how it should be.
They will just ignore what does not seem in keeping with that view.
A Friendly breed that loves chasing things and is really happy running on a beach,they adore playing with any other dog they can find .
Good with children but need more exercise than you would believe - no - much more than that !
Do not try to keep one in an apartment or small house - this is a dog bred for the wide open spaces.

The Irish Setter will grow into an excellent game dog and will be good at pointing to game birds (or MacDonalds cartons equally well)
